We caught up with top Irish jockey for a quick Q&A and he reveals some things we never knew about the former champion jockey.

Earliest memory of horses: riding my old pony Snowy around the fields at home
First job in racing: working for my Father, Gerry Keane
First winner & where: No Trimmings 10th December 2010, Dundalk
The horse: Siskin
The race win: Siskin winning the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes in 2019, it was special as it was my first Group on home soil and getting to do it for my boss and the owners was great.
Best racing advice: Don’t be afraid to ask questions and take advise from senior jockeys and trainers
If you were not a jockey: Chef
Sporting idols: Johnny Murtagh and Pat Smullen
Favourite soccer club: don’t follow soccer
Pastimes: Hunting and Shooting, Watching Netflix
Four dinner guests: Lewis Capaldi, Tommy Tiernan, David Attenborough and Will Ferrell
Best holiday: travelling Thailand with my girlfriend for a month

The TV programme: Brooklyn 99/Love Island when it’s on
The Gowran Park stand out memory: Who’s Steph winning the Victor McCalmont Memorial Stakes by 8 lengths in 2019
Did you know: Colin is the first jockey to win the Group 3 Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Stakes twice in a row– Duchess Andorra 2016 & Laganore 2017 since Johnny Murtagh did it in 1997 & 1998.
