Gowran Park has a number of bars and dining options to enhance your race day experience whether you are on a stag party, hen party, with a family or friend. Here is our guide to where to get a drink or grab a bite to eat.
Thyestes Bar
The Thyestes Bar is our main bar and is located on the ground floor of our stand beside BoyleSports and opposite the Tote counter. This is a large bar area with quick access to the betting ring for that all important flutter and the stands to cheer on your horse. It is possible to reserve seating for groups who are booked on the Silver Packages provided there is a minimum number of 12 and must be done so through the office at Gowran Park.
Access to the Thyestes Bar is gained in a number of ways.
a) Through the reception door and into Boyle Sports
b) The main door under the stand from the betting ring
c) From any of the doors on your left hand side near the external staircase plus there is a door in the middle of the stand on the race track side.
Blinkers Bar
Blinkers Bar is located on the first floor beside the food hall. This bar is not always open but when it is, its rocking. Just outside race fans can get a great view of the track plus there are numerous televisions so you don’t miss a beat. Blinkers Bar is available for private parties which have to be booked in advance and require a minimum number of 80 people.
Clubhouse
The Clubhouse is located on the second (top) floor, tables can be reserved for all race days but must be done in advance. From the Clubhouse people have access to the balcony overlooking the racecourse.
Hospitality Suite
This is located on the second floor of the main stand and is where people who are on the Platinum Package will enjoy their day at the races with a balcony overlooking the entire track and the Winning Post. This room is restricted to people on the Platinum Package.
Food Hall
The food hall is located on the first floor. It offers a wide selection of food from roast dinners, fish & chips, sandwiches and dessert options plus teas and coffees. Access to the food hall is gained via the elevator, the main staircase at the reception door and also from the top either stand.
Takeaway Counter
On the ground floor at the end of the Thyestes Bar we operate a takeaway area where its possible to get rolls, sandwiches, scones, tea/coffees etc.
On Goffs Thyestes Day, Red Mills Day and Ladies Day we operate a marquee bar beside the open stand close to the parade ring.
