Since it’s establishment in 2001 Gowran Park golf course has established itself as one of the best golf courses in the south east of Ireland.

In 2001, Gowran Park, in County Kilkenny developed this unique 18 hole golf course to compliment its renowned race meetings. The 18 hole course meanders in and around 130 acres with 5 holes within the racecourse boundary and the remainder in the mature woodland and lake settings of the Annaly Estate.

With the magnificent backdrop of the Blackstairs Mountains this par 71, 18 hole golf course provides an excellent test for the low handicap golfer whilst also being very enjoyable for the middle to high handicappers. Golf societies and visitors are welcome seven days a week subject to availability. All society & golf classic bookings can be made through our golf shop golf@gowranpark.ie During the summer we run an open singles every Thursday with the top 3 qualifying for the series final in the autumn.

The feature hole on the course is the 4th which is based on the 13th hole at Augusta and for the past number of years has been ranked in Ireland’s top 100 holes. It’s a par 4 with a slight dogleg from right to left. The green is protected by a stream. A par any day here is a bonus while a birdie is a rarity. Of the par 3’s the most challenging is the 16th where golfer play across the race track to a narrow green that is well protected by bunkers.
