AUTOMATIC PENALTY SCORES PROCESS
CHANGE TO MANDATORY HANDICAP ON SCORECARDS
From 31st March 2022, Golf Ireland requires that the player’s Handicap Index is verified before playing and is the required handicap on a scorecard. When signing in on the computer or app your Handicap index is there for you to see.
This is a change of policy from the Course Handicap (see Rule 3.3b(4)/1).
If you have any queries about either of the above or anything Handicap related, please do not hesitate in contacting me.
Yours sincerely

WHS – What’s the difference between the 3 Handicaps?
In the previous CONGU system players had one handicap – their Exact Handicap. With the move to the WHS, there are now 3 handicaps that players need to understand.
Going forward players will be required to have all 3 handicaps on their scorecard. The new scorecard design will have space for each handicap.
You will see all 3 handicaps when you sign into a competition on the computer or on your phone.
