Gowran Park is conveniently situated just 10 minutes from Kilkenny City and 25 minutes from Carlow Town on the R448 which is themain road from Gowran to Thomastown. It’s less than 1 kilometre outside the village of Gowran itself.
Gowran Park offers a complimentary bus from the gates of Kilkenny Castle to every race meeting in Gowran Park. The bus departs 1 hour before the first race and returns approximately 30 minutes after the last race on the card.

Gowran Park is 13km east of Kilkenny, 130km south of Dublin and 48km north of Waterford.
Directions from Dublin
Take the M9 South , exit at Junction 7 signposted Paulstown, follow the signs for Gowran. On entering the village of Gowran on the R448, drive straight through for approximately 2km, the entrance to Gowran Park is on your left. The main carpark is on your righthand side just after the main entrance.
Directions from Kilkenny
The racecourse is 8 miles from Kilkenny City. Take the N10 for 10km and branch right onto the R702 (signposted Gowran). On entering the village, turn right, following Thomastown/Waterford road, and drive straight for approximately 1km, the entrance to Gowran Park is on your left.
Directions from Waterford
Take the M9 North, exit at Junction 7 signposted Paulstown
Follow signs to Gowran. On entering the village of Gowran, drive straight through for approximately 2km, the entrance to Gowran Park is on your left.
Bus Eireann operate a bus service through Gowran Village. It’s Expressway 4 which runs from Dublin to New Ross via Waterford.
