Members Weekend Times

Saturday – 7.00 am to 9.52 am and 1:04 pm to 13.52 pm
Sunday –   7:00 am to 13.28 pm

Note: Members must always book tee-times in advance.

Please note the following Gowran Park Golf Club tee time policy for weekend tee times:

  • Members can only book one tee time over the weekend during prime tee time slots which are from the 1st tee time on Saturday within member’s times and Sunday from 1st. Tee Time to 12.30 p.m. This is to ensure all members get an opportunity to play over the weekend during prime tee times.
  • Members booking a tee time in a prime tee time slot must enter the weekend competition by signing in at the golf shop, paying your entry fee and signing in on How Did I Do or the locker room computer. Social golf can be booked outside of the prime tee time slots.
  • If available a member may book a second prime tee time slot after 5pm on the Friday for the following Saturday and on Saturday for the Sunday.

**Please ensure to always remove your name from the timesheet if unable to play in your round during prime tee time slots.**

 Competition entry fees are a core source of revenue to the working committees of the club and assist us to support the expenses associated with running the members section of the club which vary from administration, golf prizes, software systems, inter club teams, junior coaching, hosting member events and many more functions required to deliver the golf club services and standards expected from you, our members.

Prizegiving

Prizes will be presented on the last Wednesday of every month during Summer months. Members must attend. Prizes due to members who do not attend will be awarded to those present.

 

Golf Instruction

Our resident golf instructor is Dominic Bolger (087) 252 7098

Only the Gowran Park golf instructor may give playing lessons on Gowran Park Golf Course. The use of the practice area is limited to members of Gowran Park Golf Course.

Etiquette

The overriding principle is that consideration should be shown to others on the course at all times. There is a section in the Rules of golf dealing with these issues which include Dress Code, Priority on the course, Pace of play, Care of the course etc. These are all outlined in the club diary and can be summarised by the following:

  • Smart Casual attire is essential. No Denim, Tracksuits, Football Jerseys etc.
  • Play at a good pace and keep up.
  • Replace Divots, Rake Bunkers & Repair Plug Marks.

 

Membership Card

Your Gowran Park Membership card entitles you to:

  • 15% discount off all drinks in the Club House Bar
  • Free Admission to all race meetings at Gowran Park (excludes Thyestes & Red Mill Days)

 

Race Day Golf

Golfers can play a 9-hole loop on certain race days under the following conditions:

  • Cars must be parked beyond 11th fairway in the Practice Ground car park.
  • Golfers will not have clubhouse or racecourse access
  • Golf must be completed 2 hours before the first race
  • 9 holes to be played as follows: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 6, 7, 8.

Communication by Mobile Phone Text Messaging

Selected news, information & updates are sent out by text message or the Club V1 app from Gowran Park Golf Club.

If you are not receiving these texts, please send a message to the Communications Secretary who will update your details on the messaging system.

Online Booking

The Online Booking facility is available to members.

Go to the the golf section of the gowranpark.ie website and select Book a Tee Time and follow the instructions to register using your 8 digit CDH number which can be found on the back of your swipe card.

Information for Ladies for 2023

Tee Times for 2023 are as follows:

Wednesday tee times, 10 – 10.56 a.m. and 1.36 – 2.00 p.m.  If you wish to play on a Sunday, please arrange your own opposition and tee time or check on the online booking system for vacant slots.

Once 18 holes commence 2 extra tee time at 15.52 & 16.00 will be added in the summer months. Sunday tee times remain the same as above.

Ladies are required to be onsite 15 minutes prior to tee times for draws to be made and in any exceptional circumstances that you may be running late, please inform another lady member that you know is playing or phone the shop so you may be added to the draw list.

Our golfer of the year will start on the first competition day after April 1st and points will be allocated as follows:
1st = 10pts, 2nd = 8pts, 3rd = 6pts, 4th = 4pts, 5th = 2pts.

If Racing or an Open Fourball fall on Sunday our alternate day will be the previous Saturday. Standard conditions of a competition, Local rules, Link to rules of golf, Player responsibilities (congu) etc..
