Congratulations to the Gowran Park Jimmy Bruen team who finished in first place on Sunday in the strokeplay portion of the regional qualifying. Dave Kearney & Ted Hoyne carded a 76, Nicky Cleere & Enda Cleere 79, Tony Treacy & Eoin Jordan 82, Ger Treacy & Luke Kelly also had an 82 and Seán Kiely & Martin Donnelly posted an 83. Taking the best 4 scores into account, Gowran’s total of 319 was enough to put them in first place and they will now face Bunclody in the (matchplay) semi-final on Saturday morning. Kilkenny and Carlow will face each other in the other semi-final and the winners of each semi-final will play each other later in the day in a final to see who goes through to the Leinster play-offs.
