Best of luck to the Jimmy Bruen team who are in the play-off stages of that competition in Leinster. They face Wicklow Golf Club in the quarter-finals on Saturday in Coollattin GC at 4pm.
Gowran Park was a host club for the region earlier in the summer and the home club led the scoring in the strokeplay qualifying. They then defeated Bunclody in the regional semi-final and then Carlow in the final to earn their place at these Leinster play-offs.

Junior Golf:
The Leinster Junior Foursomes Competition was held at Callan Golf Club on Wednesday the 23rd June last with 18 clubs from the south east region taking part. The Gowran team, despite having their choice curtailed due to exams, put in a very good display and only missed qualifying by a few shots.
The team consisted of Dara McComb and J P Treacy who returned a score of 73 and Christopher Dick and Paul Delahanty who carded a 78 nett. Two neighbouring clubs Callan and Castlecomer contested the final with Callan just emerging the winner.
Membership for Juniors both Boys and Girls is still open and new members are most welcome. Boys coaching and competitions continue each wednesday at 10.30am.

Midweek 9-Hole:
The 9 hole competition continues throughout the summer. It’s a great social evening and a chance to get some practice in before the more serious competition on the weekend!
Just show up on the Wednesday evening (around 5pm) and you’ll always get someone to join up with. There is also a special 9-hole menu laid on in the bar upstairs afterwards.
