Gowran Park Launch Their All-Ability Golf Program For Boys and Girls With Disabilities

Following a year and half of planning and preparations, Gowran Park Golf Club launched their All-Ability golf coaching program this week starting with four wonderful kids supported by their parents, volunteers from the club, Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership and Golf Ireland and are the first golf club in County Kilkenny to do so with the idea to build a program that other golf clubs can adopt in time.

The program is geared to teaching kids with disabilities who have little or no golf experience to learn the great game and focusses on their ability, fun, games, and of course golf all within a safe and child friendly positive environment.

Gowran Park are one of the Golf Ireland Golf4All hubs who deliver disability inclusive golf programmes for people with disabilities. Welcoming children through the KRSP to their programme, the club is an advocate for inclusive golf and are a reflective example of the message that golf is for everyone.

Inspired by Paul O Rahilly, a visually impaired member of Gowran Park he is supported by club management, Mens, and Ladies’ committees, our club volunteers and the Junior committee along with resident coach Dominic Bolger.
