Open Weekend a Success
An 18 hole singles competition was held in Gowran Park over the Bank Holiday weekend. A large entry resulted in some hot scores from the competitiors. With a summer feel to the prizes the weather didn’t disappoint with excellent conditions over all the days and the top class condition of the course contributed to a most enjoyable experience for all competitors.
The top spot of the weekend went to local member Alex Dunne (17) with a great score of 44 points who can now look forward to a relaxing break having won a holiday to the Atlantic Coast Hotel in Westport, Co. Mayo! Conor Murphy (9) from Callan Golf Club took the runner- up spot on a countback. He received a 6 piece patio set while 3rd place went to Joe Farrell, Gowran Park (8) also on a countback who took home a flat screen Samsung TV . Leading scores on each day went to David Lawlor (9), Kilkenny Golf Club with a score of 41 pts on Friday, Michael O’Sullivan (6), Gowran Park took Saturday’s prize with 38 pts, Ed Donohoe (15) had the leading score on Sunday with 43 pts and Justin Byrne (20) Blessington Lakes took the best score on Monday with 42 pts.
Fundraiser for Carlow/Kilkenny Homecare Team
Kerri Bolger and family would like to thank all those who participated recently in the Dan Bolger Memorial Fundraiser in aid of the Carlow/Kikenny Homecare Team, – a total of €1000 was raised.
