Gowran Park Golf Notes – Wednesday 5th March 2014

Spring League:   A good entry for the Spring League was recorded last week over the two days.  Local member Martin Donohoe (17) took the first qualifying spot with 40 points on a count-back from Lawrence Walsh (13).  Paddy McGuinness (8) took the remaining qualifying place with a score of 38 points.  The competition continues this Thursday and Friday ahead of the final to take place on 28^th March 2014.

 

Men’s Results – Sunday 2^nd March:    Results of this competition are available online from today Wednesday 5^th March.

 

Reminder – Rumble for Crumlin  2014– members are reminded that the annual 3 person “Rumble for Crumlin” event takes place from next Monday 10^th March through to Sunday 16^th March (excluding Saturday) – please give your best support to this very worthy charity.

LADIES –

Start of Season Scramble

 

Lady Captain Deirdre McCabe organised an 11 hole scramble on Wednesday last 25^th February.  This was an ideal opportunity for the lady members to kick-start the season on one of the best mornings of the year so far and there was a great turnout of both existing and new members.   After a shotgun start at 11.00 a.m. the presentation took place in the clubhouse at 3.30 p.m. followed by refreshments.

 

It was a very enjoyable start to the golfing season with 18 hole competitions kicking off from Wednesday 5th March.
