Presidents Prize 2013 – Saturday 31st August 2013

A great crowd turned out for President Eamon Kealy’s Prize on Sunday last 31st August. Played in great conditions and with the greens being superfast the course was the real winner. The men’s prize was won by Aidan Roche, playing off 6, who returned a score of 38 points. Lee Graham (8) took runner up spot with 37 points while the ever consistant Paudie Lennon (2) won the gross with 35 points. James Doyle (10) continued his great form by taking 4th place with 37 points and Ger Treacy (9) took the 5th prize with 36 points. The front nine prize went to John Colgan (20) with 22 points and Liam O’Dwyer (9) took the back nine with a score of 20 points.

Margaret Bower (31) created history by winning the ladies prize having already won the Captain’s Prize earlier in the year. Margaret is currently playing great golf and had 3 points to spare over Helen Dunne (24) who returned an excellent 40 points in second place. The gross prize went to the on-form Ann Mullins (15) with Nora Barron (15)  and Kathleen Whitehead (28) taking 4th and 5th places respectively with 36 points. The front nine was won by Brigid Mullins (31) and the back nine went to Catherine O’Driscoll (23).

Great credit must go to Joe Scriven and his staff for the excellent condition of the course, which helped to make this a memorable day for all concerned.
