Open Weekend a Success

An 18  Hole Singles competition was held in Gowran Park over the Bank Holiday weekend.  A large entry resulted in some hot scores from the competitors.  Gowran Park member Alex Dunne secured victory with a great score of 44 points playing on Sunday.  Charlie Hogg, Bunclody Golf Club  took the runners-up spot 1 point further back playing on Friday with Richie Power, Mountain View swapping the playing field for the fairways, taking 3rd place with 40 points on Sunday.  Ciaran Whelan (9), Gowran Park took the gross prize with a score of 32 points. With a summer feel to the prizes the weather didn’t disappoint with excellent conditions over all the days and the top class condition of the course contributed to a most enjoyable experience for all competitors. The daily winners included, Richie Minogue on Friday, Dick Manogue on Saturday and Eddie Walsh on Sunday.

Thursdays Open Singles resulted in Kilkenny members taking the spoils in Gowrans’ weekly Open Singles competition.  Niall Sheehan (17) returned the winning score of 37 points ahead of fellow member Steve Rochford.

Club Fundraiser – Monday 2nd June

The Club held a very successful 2 Person Team Event on bank holiday Monday.  A full time sheet on the day resulted in Gowran park members Jerry Minogue and Seamus McKillen taking the spoils.  The Club are very appreciative of the generous support from its many sponsors and a full list of winner is available online.
