RICHIE TAKES THE HONOURS

Captains Prize Day

Captain’s Day was held on Saturday 29th June with a great turnout on the day. The competition was played off the back markers and along with difficult pin positions scoring proved difficult on the day. 6 handicapper Richie Lowry took the major honours for the 2nd time in 3 years when returning a nett 69, winning on a countback from Jim Byrne who took 2nd place.  Conor Bolger took 3rd spot with a nett 70, while Paul Whelan took the best gross on 4 over par 75.  Past Captains Prize went to Thos. Farrell with Alan Cleere taking 4th spot with a nett 71.  The Back 9 and Front 9 went to Pat Nolan and Dan Stallard respectively.  A great night was had by all and the Men’s Captain, Melvyn Kennedy and Lady Captain Margaret Logue were delighted with the turnout and thanked everyone for their commitment and support.  A large number of members and guests turned out that night in support for the Captains’ Dinner.  Presentation of prizes was followed by speeches of appreciation and thanks by both Captains.
