Handicappers 10 – 18 are invited to Gowran Park on Sunday next for the first of the Scratch Cups of the year. The Intermediate Scratch Cup will be played with a timesheet in place – golfers can book online or contact the office on 056 7726699
Open Singles – Thursday 4th July 2013
The fine weather brought a large entry to the competition – visiting golfers came to the fore with Noel Guerin (10) Blessington Lakes, taking top spot with 41 points with Charles Byrne (14) Carlow GC taking the runner-up spot with 38 points. Timesheet is busy for this week so with more fine weather forecast early booking is advisable.
Members Singles – Sunday 7th July 2013
Fifteen handicapper Sean Roche took the honours in last weekends’ singles competition – Sean had a great score of 43 points to secure victory from Joe Byrne (17) by 1 stroke. Tony Mahon (18) took 3rd place with a score of 40 points.

Australian Spoons
Ann Mullins and Deirdre McCabe had a respectful round of 35pts in Carlow on Monday 1st July. Unfortunately not good enough to qualify for the National Final, the winning score of 43pts came in from Dunmurry Springs.
LADIES OPEN DAY
An Open Day for Ladies will take place on Wednesday 17th July – the competition will be a 3 person team event. The timesheet is available now both online www.gowranpark.ie or telephone 056 7726699 with tee times from 9.00 a.m. The green fee is €15.00 for visitors and €5.00 for members – all welcome.

The junior weekly competitions continue every Monday with a draw at 10.00 a.m. for juniors with handicaps and 10.30 a.m. for 9 hole non handicap and beginners.
