BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS AHEAD – August Bank Holiday Weekend

 

Gowran Park are hosting an 18 Hole Singles competition over this Bank Holiday weekend – the competition runs right through from Friday 2^nd to Monday 5^5h August open to both ladies and men.  To celebrate our 12^th year in business, we are inviting our visitors to play in the competition and enjoy the course for a special entry fee of only €12.00 with fantastic prizes on offer – including a daily prize.  Timesheets now open and filling fast – Tel 056 7726699 or online at www.gowranpark.ie

 

These celebrations will lead nicely into our Open Week 2013 which takes place from Thursday 8^th to Sunday 18^th August.  Popular competitions include a 3 Person Rumble on Friday 9^th, Gowran Gathering Open Singles on Monday 12^th for a special entry fee of only €10 for visitors, Ladies 2 Person Team Event on Tuesday 13^th along with a 4 person team event to conclude the weeks’ activities on Saturday 17^th and Sunday 18^th August – the full intinerary of event will be………………

Open Singles – Thursday 25^th July

 

The fine weather brought a large entry to our regular open singles on Thursday last.  Young local member Ciaran Whelan (12) took the leading spot with a return of 41 points to win a super weekend break to the Carlton Hotel Tralee.  Ciaran just pipped Damian Dowling (12) Mountain View GC for victory in winning on a countback.  Competition continues this Thursday with timesheet in place – Tel:  056 7726699.

 

Monthly Medal – Sunday 28^th July 2013

 

 

The members monthly medal took place last weekend – some hot scoring resulted in 13 handicapper J.J. Ryan taking top spot with a great score of a nett 63.  J.J. had 2 to spare over Tony Dooley who returned a nett 65.  Colm Corcoran playing off 7 returned a score of 2 over gross resulting in nett 66 to take 3^rd place.

 

Congratulations  to our Course Ranger, Liam O’Dwyer who recently had a great win in Kilkenny Golf Club winning the Intermediate Scratch Cup.
