The Gowran Park Seniors group travelled to Enniscorthy G.C. for their weekly competition on Monday the 27th Sept last and enjoyed some great golf on a course that was in excellent condition.
A total of 64 players, both Ladies and Gents, took part in a Champagne Scramble. Six strokes separated the first eight teams in the competition with Kate Hennessy’s team victorious on 93 points, ably assisted by Bobby O’Brien, Sean Brennan and Mary Harding.
Second place was taken by Frank Costelloe’s team of Noel Cottrell, Charlotte Boote and Maureen McCormack who finished with 92 points.
Pat Staunton’s team of Joan Murphy, Michael Dobbyn and Kathleen Slattery finished third on 89 points.
A total of 3 teams tied on 88 points with David Bambrick’s team taking 4th place on a count back.
