Autumn Qualifier
The Autumn Singles qualifier continued over the last number of weeks, On the week of the 18th/19th visitors from Callan and Mountain View took the qualifying spots for the final to be held before Christmas. Simon Murphy (14) Callan took the leading qualifying spot with 35 points while Mountain View members T.J. Coughlan (9) along with Mick Doyle (10) took the remaining place. Last Thursday and Friday Ger Lynch (Gowran Park) took the leading spot playing off 15 scoring 42 points. Richie Lanigan (17) from Mountain View along with Gowran Park member Mick Bolger (16) took the remaining qualifying spots for the final to be held before Christmas.
Members 11 Hole Singles
The members competition over the weekend of 20th/21st October was an 11 Hole Singles Stableford – it was the first in the members Winter League competition. First place went to P.J. Dreeling (8) with a great score of 26 points with Tony Mahon (18) and Karol O’Neill (18) 1 further back on 25pt (cb) respectively. The League continues over the next number of weekends with points being awarded for players within the top 9 positions.
Ladies Golfer of the Year
Congratulations to Gay Latchford on retaining the title of ‘Golfer of the Year’ for the 2nd year running. Gay a valued member of the club, started playing off 36, is now off 27, a great supporter of the club competitions and enthusiastic team member – a well deserved winner.
Ladies 11 Hole Fun Scramble
There was a very good turnout on Wednesday 24th October for the rescheduled Fun Scramble. It was great to see so many of our new members participate in a very enjoyable day. The format, 11 hole scramble with a twist – 2 scores to count on the par 3’s

Entries for Teams for the Winter League required by Monday 5th November. Draw sheet in Ladies locker room. Entry fee €5 .The best 2 scores from each team to count on every 9/11 hole competition during the winter.
Ladies South East Junior Alliance
The Ladies South East Junior Alliance took place in Gowran Park on Monday 15th October. Sixty two ladies from surrounding clubs played and were lucky with a lovely dry day.

Mixed Seniors (over 50’s) Club Competition
The inaugural competition took place on Friday 19th October with a large entry for the first day with everyone looking forward to a good days golf. After much debate over a name for the new group ‘Golden Golfers’ was eventually decided on. The 11 hole competition resulted in lady member Eileen Tobin (18) taking the spoils with 26 points, while Kieran Mahon (12) took second place with 22 points. Last Friday saw another large entry for this now popular event. Gerry Doyle collected first prize with a score of 22 points while Liam O’Dwyer took the runners up spot with a score of 21 points. The format for these competitions will be an 11 hole stableford with tee reserved from 9am – 11am and a draw at 10am for anyone without playing partners. Entry fee €5, register in the golf shop. Refreshments will be served in the bar after golf and presentation of prizes will then take place.
