Duggan Cup:
Last Friday saw a wonderful performance, with a great victory over our neighbors’, Mount Juliet. Home advantage was with Mount Juliet with three pairings playing, along with the remaining two on our home course in Gowran. A solid performance by Kieran Mahon and Richard Barron in Gowran laid the foundations for two great away wins in Mount Juliet. Kevin Fennelly and Pat Roche played tremendous golf, with a comprehensive win on the 12th (7 & 6). Ted Hoyne and Declan Davis sealed the victory with a good win on the 18th by one hole. Other team members included our Captain Sean Kiely and Jim Walsh in Mount Juliet along with Tony Treacy and Gerry Doyle in Gowran. Dermot Fennelly, Team Manager, was delighted with the performance and is now looking forward to the next round against Wicklow Golf Club.

Round two of the Finn Trophy was played in Gowran Park on Friday last. Gowran Park took on a vibrant Wexford Team, with all five matches competing in Gowran. Congratulations to the Gowran Ladies on a comprehensive victory over Wexford – a great win. The team included Sinead Kearney and Karen Haughney (won on the 18th), Ann Mullins and Ger Hickey (won on the 17th), Deirdre Mc Cabe and Helen Dunne (won on the 11th), Breda Bolger and Catherine O’Connor – called in and Nora Barron and Kathleen Whitehead – called in. Very well done to all involved. Gowran Park are now waiting on the result of their opposite match to know where their next encounter lies. The Ladies Miele Team are also continuing their successful run and are heading to Arklow Golf Club for the next round.
