Fixtures:
Next weekend sees the first of the Monthly Medals, singles strokeplay off the back tees… welcome to the season! This is one of 8 monthly medals in the year and points are awarded to the top 8 players (10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1) in each event towards the Golfer Of The Year prize.

Handicaps:
Before the seasons gets underway in earnest, make sure your handicap is in order. A lot of new members have joined and in order to transfer your handicap, you must submit your current handicap cert from your previous club. Mark it for the attention of the Handicap Secretary. Once this is received it it’s a simple task to get you up and running and ready to play competitive golf.
If you have joined and are a first-time member of a golf club, you will need to complete 3 full rounds with an existing member (that already has an official handicap). Submit these 3 cards together for the attention of the Handicap Secretary.

Club Matchplay:
The deadline for entry to the Club Singles is fast approaching. If you want to play in the Club Singles Matchplay this year, you must enter by March 31st. More details on the notice board at the club as well as on the members blog online.

Members Blog:
The members blog is now live on the Gowran Park website. It’s a great source of knowledge and information for the club where members can keep in touch with the latest news and events as well as commenting on the articles or leaving feedback for their committee. The nature of the blog is that it will change and be updated frequently so be sure to check it regularly. You can find it at http://blog.gowranpark.ie
