Fixtures:
The Open Singles continues on Thursdays. Visitors: €20 per person. Members: €5 per person. Sunday is a Race Day.
The Captain’s Prize will be held on Saturday June 26th. A draw sheet is on the notice board at the club for this major competition and tee times will be allocated closer to the event.

Inter-Club Golf:
Congratulations to the Gowran Park Jimmy Bruen team who beat Bunclody and Kilkenny on Saturday last to advance to the Leinster play-offs. Having qualified in first place on the previous weekends strokeplay element of the competition, Gowran were drawn to play Bunclody in Saturday morning’s matchplay semi-final. For those unfamiliar with this competition, clubs are represented by five pairs playing foursomes, the minimum individual handicap being 6 and the minimum combined being 17.

Following on from their morning win, Gowran then had to face Kilkenny in the final. Kilkenny had overcome Carlow in the morning and the stage was set.

Midweek 9-Hole:
The 9 hole competition continues throughout the summer. It’s a great social evening and a chance to get some practice in before the more serious competition on the weekend!
Just show up on the Wednesday evening (around 5pm) and you’ll always get someone to join up with. There is also a special 9-hole menu laid on in the bar upstairs afterwards.

Club Matchplay Competitions:
A reminder that the first round of the Club Fourball Matchplay is to be played by June 23rd.
The 3rd round of the Club Singles Matchplay is to be played by June 30th. You can track the progress of these competition through the Club Blog where the draw and results are published and kept up to date – go to the members area in the golf section of the gowranpark.ie website.

Online Booking:
The Online Booking facility is now active for members.
Select the ‘Members Area’ under the ‘Golf’ section of the gowranpark.ie website and follow the instructions to register using your 8 digit GUI number which can be found on the back of your swipe card.

New Swipecard:
A New GUI/Golfnet Card has now been received for each male member of Gowran Park Golf Club. These Cards are held in the shop at the Golf Club and are available for collection.
