Early morning fog didn’t stop the final medal of the year going ahead on Sunday and it burned off to reveal a fantastic day for golf.
There was no doubt about the winner after a great round of 71 gross from Ger Treacy (7) with a strong finish that included birdies on 12, 14 & 16 in a back nine of 33. Ger is now cut to 5.2 as a result.
Honorable mention also to Nicky Cleere (5) who continued his fine form of late with a nett 70.
Sunday was also the last Golfer of the year event and it was tight at the top but Gerry Doyle (11) came out on top courtesy of the 2 points he won for his 7th place finish on the day. His 20 points total meant he beat Tim Brennan (11) into second place on 18 points.
