Club Fundraiser

We had a great turnout for the Club Fundraiser on Sunday. The fundraiser is an important day for the club as money raised is solely used to fund club activities. Competition prizes, team entry into inter club competitions, cover the team expenses, handicapping software licence, the online booking (BRS) software licence and much more.

The Golf Academy Golf Shop Nine Hole Series

Starting tomorrow there is an added bonus to the Wednesday evening 9 hole competition. Thanks to the help of a couple of members we have secured sponsorship for the 9 hole competition. Brendan McDermott, owner of the Golf Academy Golf Shop has kindly sponsored a fantastic prize of Srixon irons and weekly prizes of golf balls and gloves.

On top of the usual prizes we are running a league over the next 18 weeks. The top 15 and ties will qualify for an 18 hole shootout to win the Irons.

Each week the top 10 receive points (10 to 1), these points will accumulate over the 18 weeks. The league table will be published on the blog every week and in the paper once a month.

MatchPlay Season

The Matchplay draws have taken place. Sheets are up in the locker room. They are also on line.

It’s the player on top of the draw to contact their opponent to arrange the match. Can everyone try get their matches played as early as possible.

We have the NCBI fourball. This competition supports a great cause so please try support. Also the winners qualify for a chance to win a golfing trip to St. Andrews.

 

Course Work

As you may have noticed work on the 9^th and 6^th bunkers has commenced. The bunkers on the 9^th look great. They are still out of play until the sand settles, so please don’t use.

Gowran Festival of Speed

The festival of Speed is launching this Friday @ 7:30pm, the clubhouse in Gowran. Any member with an interest in motor sport, cars in general or just enjoy launch parties are invited to attend. This will involve a press launch along with a Q&A session by special guests.

 

Golfsure Insurance 

Don’t forget to take out the Golfsure Insurance. Only €20 and can be paid any time in the office to AnnMarie.
