Great Week for Crumlin
There was a great entry for the annual members fundraiser “Rumble for Crumlin” held throughout last week. The members enjoyed the format and with all funds going to Crumlin Children’s Hospital, there was a great feeling of satisfaction while enjoying great golf on a well presented course throughout the week. Spring Series
A further round of our Spring Series took place also last week. Competition was hot and with this being the penultimate round of qualifiers, members were vying strongly to reach the final, which is to take place on Friday 28th March. David Delaney (14) Mountain View had a great score of 43 points, Anthony Wall (9) Mountain View took second qualifying with 39 points along with Colm Lynch (6) Castlecomer who scored 38 points. There will be no competition this week due to work on the course – the final round will take place on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th March. All qualifiers from previous rounds will be contacted to confirm arrangements for a shotgun start on the day.
St. Patrick’s Weekend Singles
The lovely weather over the weekend brought a large entry to the Open Singles competition. Gowran Park member Larry Comerford (12) took the leading honours with a fine score of 40 points playing on Saturday. Visitor Eric Murphy (6) Curragh Golf Club took 2nd place with 39 points – 3rd place went to Larry Cleere (6) Gowran Park who also scored 38 points but lost on a the countback. Daily qualifying prizes went to Derek O’Gorman (7) Kilkenny Golf Club (Saturday) and Gearoid Kennedy (8) Gowran Park (Monday).
SPRING AERATION PROGRAMME
The Spring aeration programme on greens is to take place on Monday next 24th March – the course will be closed until lunchtime.
