Captain’s Prize:

Last Saturday the 26th June brought the highlight of the year in Niall KIely and Sinead Kearney’s captain’s prizes. A blustery wind made scoring quite difficult and with the pins tucked away, the winners were always going to have to be on form. Richie Lowry (13) lived up to the pre tournament favourite’s tag to shoot a net 64 to clinch his first Captain’s Prize. In his first full year as a member of the club, Richie has already featured strongly and this weekend took the pinnacle event of the year. Congratulations Richie, first of many accolades we’re sure!
The ladies captain’s prize went to Margaret Logue. Margaret has worked hard on behalf of the ladies committee over the past number of years and this weekend got the ultimate reward in winning the ladies captain’s prize.
The event was supported well with over 150 members taking part. A good turnout on Saturday night for the prize giving ceremony made for a very enjoyable evening and the celebrations went on into the early hours. Many thanks go to the green keeping staff and the caterers for making the event the success that it was.
