Inter-Club Golf:
After their great victories in the Jimmy Bruen Shield to date, Gowran Park now head to Dun Laoighre on Saturday 31st to play in the Leinster semi-final. If they manage to successfully negotiate their way past New Forrest Golf Club at 8:40am they will then have the opportunity to win a pennant in the final which will take place later in the day at 2:30pm.
The very best of luck to everyone involved in what is yet another fantastic run at Inter-Club golf.
And remember members, next year you too could be involved in representing your club! There are various competitions that cater for all handicap ranges – the only real stipulation common to most of these inter-club competitions is that you have played at least 4 qualifying competitions in the previous year so now is the time to make sure you make yourself eligible for next year! Qualifying competitions means singles competitions where you handicap can be adjusted so winter ones don’t count.
Midweek 9-Hole:
The 9 hole competition continues throughout the summer. It’s a great social evening and a chance to get some practice in before the more serious competition on the weekend!
Just show up on the Wednesday evening (around 5pm) and you’ll always get someone to join up with. There is also a special 9-hole menu laid on in the bar upstairs afterwards.

Club Matchplay Competitions:
And then there were four. The Club Singles Matchplay is now at the semi-final stage where Michael Pitt will face Richie Lowry in one match and Mark Hennessy will face Colm Lawlor in the other. These semi-finals are to be played by 11th August with the final to take place by August 25th.
The Club Fourball Matchplay is at the Quarter Final stage and these games are to be played by 11th August.
