The Finn Trophy took place last Wednesday at Gowran Park against Waterford Castle. On this, our 3rd attempt, we managed to get past the first round and beat Waterford Castle comprehensively – so well done to all involved:-

Interclub
The South Leinster team for 2011 bowed out in the first round in a close fought match
against defending champions Dunmurray Springs who had the advantage of a home
draw. Our home team of Pat Staunton (Won 4&3), Liam Hutchinson (Won 4&3) and
Tom Dack (Lost 4&3) gave us a good chance of causing an upset. The away team
had it all to do in very windy conditions. Aidan Grogan lipped out on the 18th to lose
1 down, James Fitzgerald was 1 up standing on the 18th, James Fisher and Tommy
Bolger were beaten 3&2. Team Managers Melvyn Kennedy and John Barcoe would
like to thank all involved for their efforts.
REMINDER – Club Matchplay
Closing date for entry into the Club Singles and Club Fourball Matchplay competitions is this Wednesday 11th May. Entry fee is €10 per person for each competition. Please submit your entry immediately if you wish to be included in draw.
